Before dedicating herself fully to art, Dayamí Hayek worked for several years on interior design projects. This period taught her how very different materials behave, dry and interact.
Material as vocabulary
In her work, material does more than create texture. It is selected according to the subject and becomes part of the message. Collage, painting, volume and objects meet in a construction based on observation, assembly and patience.
